Technical Consultant (Security)

Connectivity and Security are fundamental building blocks for hybrid IT environments, Security is key in WAN connectivity, core data center networks, edge networking and wifi. Here’s how you’ll make an impact…

  • You’ll be involved in all stages of a project’s lifecycle:
    • In business development phase, you’ll work with our business development manager to maintain and develop our Secure Networking portfolio
    • In presales phase, together with our Sales teams, you will work on offerings for new and existing customers to find the right solution for their needs
    • During the planning stage, you and your closest colleagues will design, test and validate network architectures that will be part of our Infrastructure designs.
    • During the building stage, you’ll be there to offer advice and assistance. If you get a thrill out of implementing things yourself, this will only energize you.
    • During the operations stage, you’ll be providing 3rd-line support for the clients and the Realdolmen Operations Team.
  • As a consultant you will be contribute in developing our Security portfolio, a continuous story since we’re in a fast evolving IT world.
  • In the design stage, you’ll get to share your vision with the clients. You’ll be their trusted advisor who, based on their current situation, shows them the way forward. You’ll get to put your expertise to work to demonstrate the benefits and drawbacks of certain choices, in order to help clients make decisions. This will be the most important part of your job.
  • You’ll also be the person effectively carrying out the projects. Depending on the size and complexity of the assignment, you’ll either be working on your own or with colleagues specialized in other technology, with infrastructure architects, under the direction of a project leader. As part of the delivery of our projects, you’ll always get to produce documentation and provide coaching.
  • With your expertise, you’ll be the go-to person for escalations during the operational stage. Realdolmen offers clients a wide range of Managed Services, and your knowledge will be key to tackling complex problems.
  • You will speak on events where we show our expertise to customers and partners

Your profile

Do you have this experience and these skills?

  • Do you already have several years of experience and therefore know the ins and outs of securing networks in general or within a specific specialization?
  • Do you feel at home in medium to large IT environments, and do you know all about IT concepts, technology and products?
  • Do you have technical knowledge in the following domains and/or technologies?
    • Network and security architectures, concepts
    • WAN, LAN, WLAN, MPLS, SDN
    • Routing and switching, TCPIP, OSPF, BPG, etc.
    • Firewall and network security concepts such as VPN’s
  • If you have general security knowledge and/or you have certifications for specific security vendors, even better:
    • Cisco security
    • Check Point, Fortinet, Citrix Netscaler
    • Multi factor authentication tools
