DevOps / Service Reliability Engineer (SRE)

To support the exponential growth of our DevOps practice, we are looking to recruit and train several Service Reliability Engineers. Building up on your actual expertise, we will train you in Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, Redhat OpenShift technologies … depending on your own interest.

 

What you will be doing?

  • For real DevOps projects, you will take the role of the Service Reliability Engineer. In this position you will make the bridge between development and operations. You will be responsible for the reliability of services in production by focussing on topics such as availability, latency, change management, emergency response, security, operational cost and capacity management.
  • You will build infrastructure from the ground up, making it ready for scalability, service reliability, capacity and performance.
  • You will write automation code for provisioning and operating infrastructure at scale, aiming for 100% automation in DevOps processes.
  • You will develop and enable continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) for automation system components.
  • You will roll up the sleeves to troubleshoot incidents, formulate theories, test your hypothesis, and narrow down possibilities to find the root cause.
  • You will work with development teams to make sure the applications fit nicely within the infrastructure and scalability/reliability is designed and implemented from scratch.
  • You will build pipelines and automation for delivering and deploying applications to production.
  • You build tools for yourself and others to increase efficiency and to make hard or repetitive tasks easy and quick.
  • For larger projects you work in team with other Service Reliability Engineers, Software Developers, Cloud Infrastructure Engineers, Cloud Solution Architects and Project Managers to write a new success story. We can count on you for the professional implementation of the tasks entrusted to you. For smaller cloud projects you are in charge for the full engagement: you advise your client from the design until his solution is fully operational.
  • You adhere to Realdolmen’s best practices and play an active role in the continuous improvement by making suggestions and modifications based on your daily hands-on experience.
  • You will be involved during POCs, pilots and proactive services Realdolmen offers as a Cloud Managed Services Provider (MSP), such a cost optimization, lifecycle management, architecture optimization, …

Hard skills

  • You have a strong understanding and hands-on experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker container-orchestration technology and/or platforms like AKS, OpenShift, etc…
  • You have experience with Infrastructure-as-code and automation technologies like Powershell, ARM, Terraform, Helm charts, Ansible,…
  • You have strong knowledge around Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
  • You write and speak Dutch and English fluently. A good knowledge of French is very nice.
